We have an internet connection!!! Title is the link...

Wow! We sure have had some eventful days.

Dan was able to get his card back without a hitch. He was all smiles and, I am sure, very relieved.
09thday 003

The night before the card retrieval, we had to drink a few beers - just to ease the stress.

Copper Canyon was fantastic. We met many other ADV Riders there.

At the Divisadero, Conchita met some Tarahumara women who were weaving tiny little baskets while rocking their children. This indigenous people live scattered around this region.

Later that day, we met Gilo and his family. He offered us a place to camp on his property in front of the house. We are poor and humble, but very good people were his words to introduce his family.

When chatting that evening, we found out that Gilo organizes backpack and horseback riding tours in the Copper Canyon area. He told us a little bit more about the Tarahumara families, the thermal waters and vegetation in this area. Very interesting! This family had no running water in thier home. The kids were brushing thier teeth by the rain water bucket outside in the morning.

After more than 20 years of riding with only one flat tire, the road from Copper Canyon to Choix did it to us again. 250 km of twisting gravel took us over 10 hours to ride.

Right now we are in a small town called San Blas, approximately 300 km south of Mazatlan. We are staying at some friends of Dan’s. Ken and Sheila own a B & B right on the ocean. (Aticama Bed and Breakfast). They were very kind to let us bunk here for the night.
Tomorrow we are hoping to put in a full day of riding. Have to get up early, so I should get to bed.

Comments:
frost on the ground this a.m. sure doesn't look like that there! did the 10 hrs take so long b/c of the flat or you guys just enjoyed the twisties? This is awesome how you are keeping us in tune - thank you! It's fun talking with us at home if they've seen the latest set of photos. How's the smell of the jackets day after day? love DeMong family.

Been to San Blas......lots of black flies if I remember. Thought it might have been Dan to have the flat the way his luck has been going! LOL! Good pics...ENJOY!

Howdy from the AZ Beemers folks you met in Divisadero. Glad to see you'all made it to the coast. Based on what we've read on Rosen Rides, we were concerned about you'all. Gives us more confidence when we follow your tracks, maybe next year. Have a good remainder of the ride, and if you swing back through Phoenix area, look us up.

Later, Brian and Melanie (The GL1200 riders)
